Support Amani

Dedication to Amani

In 1995 Seth’s aunt Cathie moved to Nairobi Kenya to become a missionary for God and help the Amani tribe. In 2003 she adopted Mary, Seth’s cousin. For the past 3 years Seth has been sponsoring a little girl to help put her through school and will continue to do so until she has graduated. Having family in this tribe he firsthand sees just how much of a difference we CAN truly make in their lives.

On the home page where you can scroll left and right maybe we could also add the Merch page in place of the chef/bartending. I would really like to try to make this a focus of mine as it was the original idea behind creating the website in the first place. The real estate and yacht broker ideas came later on until it just evolved too here.

Each of the ladies began their journey with Amani having been broken and devastated by the horrors of civil conflict. They shared a common need of healing, a restored vision, and a renewed energy to live again. While they came with needs they also came with gifts. They brought together skills in stitching, a love of African textiles, an eye for beauty, and a passion for peace. The convergence of their talents, needs, and desires brought Amani ya Juu to life. With a personal loan of $500, they began making placemats in Becky’s home in Nairobi and selling them at hotels, events and local shops. Through the blend of ministry and business Amani ya Juu emerged as a holistic economic enterprise.

The Products

Product sales through our retail outlets sustain the growth and development of the Amani centers. Over the years Amani ya Juu has sought creative ways to support the training program for the women at Amani. We often work with local artisans in the Nairobi Maasai Market in Kenya to supply Amani with home goods and jewelry accessories while promoting local creativity and talent. An artisan who supplies us with jewelry is a partner in Amani’s vision of peace and economic support. All products are made of natural materials and are handcrafted to compliment Amani’s line of beautiful products.
